Harry E. Walker was born near Elbridge in 1905,  He attended school in Obion and was a storekeeper aboard the USS Oklahoma when it was bombed and sank by the Japanese at Pearl Harbor, Hawaii on December 7, 1941.

Harry gave his life for his country at age 36.
Willard Worth Jones and Harry E. Walker were the first two Obion County veterans to lose their life in WWII.
