Dale was born on May 25, 1920 to Harvey Otis and Ona Pearce. She died in 1927. My father, Clarence, married Mary Wells on October 10, 1929. When Dale was 7 years, my father and mother moved in to Harvey's home and helped raise Dale. Probably until the early 30's. They thought of him as a son. Dale was my uncle. He was 21 at Pearl Harbor and I was 4 1/2 years. I don't remember Dale. I remember that day. I was outside playing and my mother took me inside and we listeded to the radio all day. I knew something was bad because of the look on their faces. I received three of his medals, a flag, paper clipings and the telegram of his death. I have turned them over the the Parsons VFW. They will display and protect them. I wish I could remember Dale. Dale's grave marker is west of Parsons at Pleasant Hill cemetary. Information provided by Ralph Pearce |
