John "Jack" Marshall (San Diego - 1939) In one of Uncle Ned's last letters, he says that Jack left the USS Arizona to visit his sick father, but he doesn't say if he comes back. According to Vincent Vlach, Survivor - USS Arizona, Jack transferred to the USS Harris on November 7, 1941, exactly one month before the attack at Pearl Harbor. According to the USS Harris reunion committee, Jack transferred off of the USS Harris sometime between January and May 1942. No other information is available. |
