Eugene Victor Lish

Born:  September 12, 1920, Davenport, Florida
Education:  Graduated Fort Pierce High School in 1939
Service Record:  Enlisted in the Navy in early 1940.  Graduated Navy music school, April 1941, assigned to battleship West Virginia.  Posthumously received Purple Heart, the American Defense service medal, World War II Victory medal and the Good Conduct Medal.  Buried in Arlington National Cemetery, VA in 1949.



"I don't know much about this Hitler guy but I know war's coming and I want to be involved.  I have yet to meet a one-legged sailor.  If I go into the service, I will go in the Navy.  Either you come back in one piece or you don't come back.
