Ronald William Kiehn was discharged from the Navy on December 6, 1941, but because the Arizona was to deploy back to Long Beach Navel Station the following Saturday, he decided to stay on board with his buddies for the trip back.
That night, he wrote a letter to his wife saying how excited he was to be coming home for good and how much he missed her and couldn't wait to see his son who was 3 months old and had never met.
Ronald never made it home. |
