Willard Worth Jones

Willard Worth Jones was born in Hardin County, Tennessee on September 29, 1917.  Willard attended Woodland Mills High School and entered the Navy while living in Hornbeak, Tennessee.

Willard was on the USS Arizona when it was bombed and sank by the Japanese at Pearl Harbor, Hawaii on December 7, 1941.  Willard gave his life for his country at age 23.
Willard Worth Jones and Harry E. Walker were the first two
Obion County veterans to lose their life in WWII.
