Howard Hodges was one of 15 children, born and raised in the little town of Washington, NC. He joined the Navy directly out of high school. Howard David Hodges, a fireman on the U.S.S. West Virginia, was killed in the Japanese attack on Pearl Harbor on December 7, 1941. He was 20 years old. |
