Michael James Giovenazzo was born January 4, 1920 in Moline, Illinois. He was the son of Mr. and Mrs. George Giovenazzo of Silvis, Illinois. Michael attended United Township High School for three years before he enlisted in the Navy. Michael Giovenazzo served in the Navy three and a half years. He was a WaterTender Second Class aboard the USS Arizona. Michael has an older brother, Joe, who was also stationed with the Pacific Fleet. Joe was a WaterTender First Class.
