George Harvey Gibson

George Harvey Gibson graduated from Long Beach Wilson High School in 1939, joined the Navy in 1940, went with the fleet to Pearl Harbor, where he died in his electricians post in the hull of USS Oklahoma when he was 20 years old.  George  was 3rd class electricians mate.

A shipmate saw him early that morning. Witnesses said the first torpedo knocked out power they got it back then lost it again, then maybe 8 more torpedoes hit.

George was buried at the punch bowl in Hawaii.
