Pallas F. Brown
USS Utah
Information provided by Charles Clark, Patsy Joslyn Meyer, and William Hughes.
Pallas F. Brown was from Oakton, Kentucky, entered the Navy on June 6, 1941 and was stationed aboard the USS Utah.

Pallas Brown survived the initial battle and the rolling over of the USS Utah.  He was taken aboard the USS Argonne to rest for the evening.  During the night, a squadron of US planes tried to land.  Thinking the planes were more Japanese planes starting another attack, sailors began trying to shoot the planes down.

A gun on the California began firing and sent red tracer streaks whoosing thru the compartment on the Argonne where the survivors had gathered.  Pallas Brown was killed as a result.
